week three The Principles of Design Assignment: Using only the shapes of circles and squares (can be pushed to ovals and rectangles) and any of the elements from last week, illustrate each of the above principles. Use Photoshop for this assignment and work in a 640px x 480px area at 72dpi. Save each image as a jpg and name it like this: lastname_principle.jpg Make sure to bring your homework on a zip drive to class so we can critique them or email them to me at my gmail address (see above) and we can pull them from there for the critique. Your work should, of course, be well-designed and highly presentable. Would you give these ideas to a client? Do you want an A on this project? If you are laughing then go back and make them better. reading: hexidecimal and RGB colors: thursday Using PhotoShop, try and replicate the colors on your color bar as closely as possible. Go to Window > Color and then view the RGB Sliders option from the little pull-down menu you get when you click on the arrow in the top right corner of the Color box. Once you have matched the color, double click on the color square in the Color window. The Color Picker window appears and you'll be able to see the hexidecimal numbers and RGB numbers as well as the closest web safe color to the original. Write all three "recipies" on the back of your color bar sheet. Your codes will looks something like this: Bookwork: questions at the end of Chapter 2 Most of the questions in section 2.6 - questions 1-8 on pages 25-27. Write your answers out and turn them in along with your color bar codes. So this means you need to read Chapter 2 over the weekend. We are painting next week :) |
